USCIS Extends Validity Period of Form I-693 Medical Record to 4 Years!

USCIS Extends Validity Period of Form I-693 Medical Record

Beginning August 12th, USCIS is temporarily extending the validity period for Form I-693 from two years to four years!

See if you are qualified:

USCIS may consider a completed Form I-693 as valid if:

  • The surgeon's signature is dated no more than 60 days before the applicant filed Form I-485 Adjust of Status
  • No more than 4 years have passed since the date of the surgeon's signature; AND
  • A decision on the applicant's Form I-485 is issued on or before September 30th, 2021

Why changed?

The change of the validity period is due to COVID-19 related delays in processing. Previously, USCIS considers a complete Form I-693 with a validity of two years after the date the surgeon signed, and now it's extended to 4 years. This extension is temporary due to COVID-19 delays, and may be updated again later, so be sure to check back again!
