USCIS Allows Applicants Rejected Due to Expired Payment to Refile

We all know that USCIS has been dealing with a huge backlog for a while now and the Biden administration is coming up with some solutions to improve the situation. One issue being that some application checks went expired due to the long processing time from USCIS.

Therefore, USCIS announced that for applications filed from June 10th to August 9th, 2021, applicants whos cases were rejected solely due to a filing fee payment expired while the request was awaiting processing may resubmit the application with a new payment.

Once USCIS confirms that the application was rejected solely due to USCIS delays on processing the payment, they will waive the $30 dishonored check fee.

Just remember to include the rejection notice included in the returned package when you resubmit!

This new policy sounds like a big relief to many of us!
