Did you hear this? USCIS Continues to Process Work Permit Extension Requests During COVID-19

Due to the temporary closure of many Application Support Centers (ASC) to the pubic in response to COVID-19, USCIS decided to move forward with the valid I-765 extension requests that had taken the biometrics in the past.

Who is qualified for using old fingerprints? If you had an appointment scheduled with your ASC on or after March 18th, 2020, and had filed an I-765 extension, your application will be processed with old biometrics taken before. This goes in effect until your ASC is open to the public again.
See USCIS's original post here.

Wondering if the ASC near you is open? You can check the status here: https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/uscis-office-closings It looks like most centers are planning to reopen in late July 2020.

According to the data I collected from my readers, most January filers in 2020 start receiving their EAD cards in June 2020. Click here to see more details!
